The Office of the Vice Provost for Academic and Faculty Affairs is responsible for university undergraduate studies, academic planning, academic regulations, and faculty development and evaluation. This position serves as the academic affairs liaison to the VCU Graduate School, SCHEV, SACS and other institutions.

  • University Undergraduate Curriculum Committee – Provides central, universitywide oversight of undergraduate curriculum.
  • Assessment Task Force
  • Retention Leadership Council
  • Undergraduate Advising Council
  • Academic Regulations Committee – Establishes and reviews university academic rules and regulations.
  • Academic Regulations Appeal Committee – Reviews and acts upon requests from students to waive particular academic rules or regulations.

The Office of the Vice Provost for Academic Finance and Administration is responsible for fiscal, faculty personnel, faculty salary administration and space utilization for academic programs, as well as oversight of the Center for Institutional Effectiveness.

Committees:

  • Monroe Park Campus Financial Administration – Serves as a conduit for financial information from the provost to the academic units.
  • Salary Administration Policy Committee – Establishes and implements salary guidelines.
  • Executive Budget Committee – Reports to the provost. Advises the provost on budget issues.

The assistant vice provost for Institutional Equity also is the director of the university’s Office of Equal Employment Opportunity, Affirmative Action and Diversity Services. They develop and enforce policies that ensure equal opportunity and access to education and employment to all members of the university community, oversee the recruitment process for instructional and administrative full-time faculty, develops and implements the university’s affirmative action program and diversity initiatives, houses the ADA coordinator, and oversees issues of sexual harassment and other forms of harassment and discrimination based on membership in a protected class (e.g., race, color, religion, national origin, age, gender, political affiliation, veterans’ status, sexual orientation or disability).
