University Substance Abuse Committee

The University Substance Abuse committee was created in 1989 by the provost and vice president for academic affairs with the charge of overseeing university policy issues concerning alcohol and other drugs. The committee wrote the “Drug Free Schools and Workplace Policy” that was approved by the VCU Board of Visitors in 1991. Revisions to the policy were crafted by the committee and approved by the BOV in 1999. Further revisions were incorporated and the policy was approved in 2002.
