New business

Dr. Brodd, the Chair, opened the meeting by welcoming everyone and by having new members and guests, as well as the returning members, introduce themselves. Following the introductions and the opening remarks, the Minutes of the April 29, 2004 meeting were approved as distributed.

Dr. Brodd conducted an orientation for the new members. Included in the orientation was a discussion of the new forms. It was stressed that the new forms be used, and that proposals submitted on the old forms would not be accepted, but would be returned to the area making the submission. She also talked about timelines for the submission of proposals, went over the guidelines for reviewers, discussed the operating principles for the committee, and discussed the courses with no enrollment.

The Committee then proceeded to review the two proposals that were submitted for this meeting. The action upon them follows.
