Community engaged scholarsThe Division of Community Engagement celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2016, leading VCU’s effort in becoming a national model for community engagement. DCE recently launched a webpage to feature exemplar community engaged scholars, telling the stories of faculty members who integrate teaching and scholarship within the community. Read more.

Academic leadership searches

Search committees for both the School of the Arts dean and Online@VCU executive director will soon welcome candidates to campus for interviews and open forums. Open forums will be announced on position webpages, available here.

Accordino named dean‌Accordino VCU

After a rigorous national search, John Accordino, Ph.D., has been named dean of the L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs, effective March 1. Accordino began his VCU career in 1986 as an assistant professor in the Department of Urban Studies and Planning. He later served as chair of the department. More recently, he was director of the VCU Center for Urban and Regional Analysis and professor in the Department of Urban Studies and Planning. Read the full article via VCU News.

Spring Commencement is quickly approaching. This year’s spring ceremony will be held on Sat., May 13, 2017 at the Richmond Coliseum. Faculty members are encouraged to celebrate the many successes of our students by attending Commencement. RSVP here.
