Faculty Convocation 2007 (Sept. 16, 2007)

Please join President Eugene P. Trani and me for Virginia Commonwealth University's 25th Opening Faculty Address and Convocation ceremony on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at VCU’s W.E. Singleton Center for the Performing Arts, located at 922 Park Ave. The reception begins at 3 p.m., with the ceremony following at 4 p.m.
Held annually since 1982, convocation is the formal opening of the academic year and acknowledges the quality and excellence of VCU faculty. We will recognize four faculty members for outstanding accomplishments:
- Marcel Cornis-Pope, Ph.D., professor, Department of English, College of Humanities and Sciences; University Award of Excellence
- Faye Z. Belgrave, Ph.D., professor, Department of Psychology, College of Humanities and Sciences; University Distinguished Teaching Award
- Aradhana A. Sood, M.D. FAACAP, professor, Department of Psychiatry, School of Medicine; University Distinguished Service Award
- Sarah Spiegel, Ph.D., professor, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, School of Medicine; University Distinguished Scholarship Award
